This registration page is for the MS Scholastic Chess Association and the Mississippi Children's Museum's Chess Grade Level Championship tournament in Jackson, MS on October 3, 2026.

  K–1^stGrade, K–3^rdGrade , K–5^thGrade  (Unrated) 

  Trophies: 1^st – 5^th Place

   

  K–7^thGrade, K–9^thGrade & K–12^thGrade (Rated)

  Trophies: 1^st – 5^th Place  

  
  Medals to rest of top 10 in each section

  Current USChess Membership required for players in grades 6-12.

  USChess Memberships cost $24 & will be available on-site or at https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess

  **Players are welcomed to play up into higher grade level divisions if desired**

  Unrated  Sections: 5 Rounds SS, G/25,d5   &  Rated Sections: 4 Rounds SS, G/35,d5

  One half-point bye can be requested before the pairings of Rounds 1-3.

  1^st Place & Top Girl Tie breaks: Tiebreaks for first place or Top Girl (Rated Or Unrated) will be determined by two G/5+3 games to be played at the end of the Last round.  With a tie of three or four players, a single round robin of G/5+3 will be played. If blitz games tie, Armageddon match(es) determined by bid.

  Additional Awards:  “TOP GIRL” Rated & Unrated.  “BIGGEST UPSET” among all rated sections -- cannot be won by an “unrated” player.  

    ENTRY FEE(s):  give access to museum exhibits throughout the day!

  Online Player Entry fee is $30 until September 30^th

  Increases to $40 on-site day of tournament

  $8 for each online purchase of Accompanying Adult/Child

  $13 on-site day of tournament

   

  On-site registration from 8:15am to 9:15am

  All players must check-in by 9:15 am.  First round begins at 9:30am.

  Chess clocks and boards provided for tournament play.
