Emma Vaughn is excited to partner with MCM and offer a creative movement dance class for the children in the Launch into Learning program. Emma is originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, where she spent her childhood dancing at a local studio. She is currently a senior dance major at Belhaven University and is looking forward to taking the wealth of knowledge and skills she has gained during her college experience into the dance field. Emma loves interacting, teaching, and creating with children of all ages. She taught dance at ArtsEvangelica, a studio in North Carolina, from 2020-2022, and in 2022 and 2024, Emma had the opportunity to bring a creative movement class to Stewpot Community Services by working with the Belhaven University Dance Ministry Ensemble. Emma’s dance training covers a variety of dance styles, including ballet, modern, jazz, and tap, and she has experience in dance performance, production, and administration. Dance was a valuable experience during Emma’s childhood, and she believes it can be equally valuable for all children to develop creativity, physical awareness, and cognitive retention. Through dance, Emma hopes to bring joy to the children in the MCM after-school program as they develop new skills in movement.
